UNESCO Multi-Stakeholder Coalition for Gender Equality in Water

WWSN is member of the UNESCO led multi-stakeholder coaltion for gender equality in water.

Since 2024, WWSN is member of the UNESCO led Multi-stakeholder coalition for gender equality in water.
The Multi-stakeholder Coalition takes collective and concrete action to address gender disparities in water-related isseus, inline with five "Game Changers" or ghe Water Action Agenda

Advocate for gender-equal funding that supports women's leadership, protects water rights, and reduces reliance on unpaid labor by women and girls.
Bridge the gap between policy and practice to ensure gender-equality policies are implemented effectively.
Promote women's leadership through education and capacity-building initiatives.
Challenge harmful social norms and stereotypes that hinder inclusive water access and decision-making.
Advance gender-responsive policies using sex-disaggregated water data and appropriate indicators.

Coalition members actively share progress and insights at key international and regional events.
